The Departure

Now, brothers, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and our gathering together to him, we ask you not to be quickly shaken in your mind, nor yet be troubled, either by spirit, or by word, or by letter as from us, saying that the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you in any way. For it will not be, unless the departure comes first, and the man of sin is revealed. (2 Thessalonians 2:1-3 WEB)

When it comes to end times events surrounding the second coming of Christ to the earth we are given two warnings. First, not to be troubled and second, not to be decieved. There is a seven year period referred to as Daniel’s seventieth week, the time of Jacob’s trouble, a time of great tribulation the world will ever experience. The prophets declared this time as a time of great wrath however the Apostle Paul made it clear that the church is exempted from God’s wrath. We shall be evacuated from the coming storm.

The text above states that the departure of the church will take place before the man of sin, the anti-Christ is revealed. The revealing of anti-christ is the first judgment seal in the book of Revelation. The church’s presence on the earth is preventing the anti-christ from being revealed. The church has been given the authority and the anointing of the Lord Jesus Christ to destroy the works of the devil and to bring in the harvest. When we finish the job then the trumpet will sound and we will depart in the twinkling of an eye! Our future is not gloom and doom but bright and glorious!
