Two Dimensional Praying #yearintheword

He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself… If I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding.—1 Corinthians 14:4, 14-15

When Jesus baptized you in the Holy Spirit He gave you power to win all your future battles. The first thing Jesus did after He was baptized in the Holy Spirit was to face off with His enemy and put Him in his place—under His feet! God gave you a special tool when you were baptized in the Spirit to put you over in every temptation. That tool is praying in the spirit or praying in tongues.

It enables you to stay steady under pressure and walk in line with God’s will. This is one dimension of prayer.

The other dimension of prayer is filling your heart with scripture and praying it back to the Father. “Father I thank you because your word says….” This also edifies your understanding and maintains your spiritual focus. Couple these two together and you have got power to put your adversary the devil to flight, you’ve got power to put the flesh under, you’ve got power to overcome the world around you. Everyday learn to pray on two dimensions you will come out with a fresh anointing to make your day!
