Christ our Pattern #yearintheword

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.—2 Corinthians 8:9

When you read in the Gospels the passion of Christ how agonized in the garden, was betrayed, beaten, crucified, forsaken, died and was buried only to rise up from the grave victorious. It is a picture of His grace extended toward you. He became poor and destitute when He was nailed to that cross and He did it willingly in order to redeem you from sin, sickness, and spiritual death. Thank God for His amazing grace.

He did it that you might be made rich! Now what does that mean? It means you are truly rich, abundantly supplied, all of your needs met! Everything that covers our human existence—not just spiritual but physical, financial, material, and social as well. God’s grace extends to every part of your life! We first must believe in order to receive His full supply of grace concerning our finances.

You show God that you trust Him when you yourself are gracious and generous towards others. When God calls on you to give that others may be blessed He is wanting to show grace and favor toward you. When you discover that The Lord is gracious you yourself will become more gracious toward others. You acquire a disposition of wanting to show favor, help, assistance toward others. As Christians we should be known for our graciousness and generosity. That is the pattern Christ left for us to follow!
