A good fight, #yearintheword

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.—2 Timothy 4:7-8

There is only one way to live the Christian life and it is by faith. Living by faith in God’s Word brings victory in every test, provision for every need, and success in every endeavor. Faith begins where God’s will is known and we can know God’s will for our lives by studying and applying His Word. Living by faith involves a fight. It’s a good fight because Jesus already determined the outcome—we win!

Have the mindset that there will always be battles to fight. If you are never engaged in a fight then it is not a good sign. Advancing spiritually is a result of engaging in the good fight of faith. You are overcoming the worldly influences around you, you are overcoming your own flesh that does not want to pray, read scripture, serve the church, love the sinner, and on and on we go. Fighting keeps you in shape! Don’t ever step out of the ring! Keep fighting and keep believing no matter what the circumstances.

Be a believer who goes the distance! Longevity has it’s rewards. The Lord will meet you at the finish line and reward you for living your life honorably and with faith in your heart. The crown of righteousness is awaiting you. Your crown refers to The Lord bestowing to you a position of honor in the coming kingdom. Make your life count for eternity and don’t anyone or anything rob you of your crown!
